Iphigenia Gossios Burg (Iphie) was born in Greece then lived in Germany and Austria and has been in the USA since 1980. She studied art at the University of Massachusetts Boston, 1986-1991. Her medium is oil-pastel, charcoal, oil paint, and acrylics and she is open to all kinds of materials as a mixed media like collage and other materials such as leaves, feathers, or artificial material. “I have two types of styles, the visual way by capturing the beauty around me that I see. The other is the spiritual approach where I feel inspired by a spiritual significance and then I work on it until I feel it’s done.

Katarina Bloomingdale

Katarina is a non-binary, neurodivergent artist living and working out of Main Street Studios in Fitchburg, Ma. They completed their BA at Framingham State University in 2016 with a major in Studio Arts, a concentration in Painting, and a double minor in Art history and English.
Katarina is primarily a painter, but uses many mediums to create due to the nature of their neurodivergence. These include, but aren’t limited to oil, acrylic, gouache, digital and watercolor for paintings as well as crochet and knitting. Their art focuses on navigating the world and finding joy as well as beauty through the lens of a person who is frequently left outside the social norms due to their neurodivergence, gender identity and long term side effects of chemo therapy.

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. So I don’t know if there was a particular point in time when I starting referring to myself as an Artist. I have explored many different mediums, watercolor, acrylic and oils. I was told one time that a live artist will create no matter the medium at hand. There is a great sense of freedom that I get from painting.
Currently working as the Instructor for the Accessible Art Studio Painting Class. The Accessible Art Studio is a program that is accessible for all abilities, I believe that everyone should have access to the ARTS.

Many of my images are inspired by places I have visited and are personally significant. Many of these places are meaningful not only for their obvious beauty but also for the hidden beauty and the natural phenomenon that transpire for a particular place to exist. I am amazed by the constant changes that need to take place in order for something to live. The four essential elements, Earth, air, fire and water are key to the survival of every living thing. My monotypes and paintings are re-examinations of these places.
For the 2023 Fitchburg Open Studio event, Clara will be demonstrating various watercolor and printmaking techniques in the gallery space at Creative Connections.

An artist and teacher working in various mediums, Randy LeSage has a B.A. in Fine Art from Framingham State University and a M.F.A. from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in affiliation with Tufts University. His work has been shown at various New England locations including the Mazmanian Gallery at Framingham State University, the Kingston Gallery in Boston, ArtsWorcester, the Fitchburg Art Museum and the T.W. Wood Gallery at Vermont College. He currently teaches at the Worcester Art Museum.

Woods and Water Pottery is owned and operated by potter Rick Roth. Rick is known for his unique, sculptural pottery and wildlife wood carving. Rick’s wildlife interest also continues into his exotic animal business called “The Creature Teachers”. Rick’s business travels to schools, libraries, camps, and birthday parties educating the public on the variety of animals and their place in the world we share.
