Creative Connections Gift Shop & Gallery’ was launched by the husband & wife team of Mark and Angie Setevdemio in 2016. Located Ashburnham, Massachusetts, the gallery represents an eclectic mix of emerging and mid-career contemporary artists working in a wide range of styles and mediums. The gift shop is a destination space featuring artisan pottery, blown glass, hand-made jewelry, wearable art and much more.

Many of my images are inspired by places I have visited and are personally significant. Many of these places are meaningful not only for their obvious beauty but also for the hidden beauty and the natural phenomenon that transpire for a particular place to exist. I am amazed by the constant changes that need to take place in order for something to live. The four essential elements, Earth, air, fire and water are key to the survival of every living thing. My monotypes and paintings are re-examinations of these places.
For the 2023 Fitchburg Open Studio event, Clara will be demonstrating various watercolor and printmaking techniques in the gallery space at Creative Connections.

Randy LeSage
Artist
An artist and teacher working in various mediums, Randy LeSage has a B.A. in Fine Art from Framingham State University and a M.F.A. from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in affiliation with Tufts University. His work has been shown at various New England locations including the Mazmanian Gallery at Framingham State University, the Kingston Gallery in Boston, ArtsWorcester, the Fitchburg Art Museum and the T.W. Wood Gallery at Vermont College. He currently teaches at the Worcester Art Museum.

Grant Llera
Author
Grant Llera lives in New York City and has many connections to Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He is the great-grandson of longtime mayor, Alfred Woollacott, great-great grandson of Fitchburg Mayor Benjamin A. Cook, and the step-great-grandson of Mayor Joseph Albert Lowe. A graduate of Pace University, Llera has worked in the Museum of Jewish Heritage and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. He is also the author of a self-published book, Remember Me: The Passengers and Crew of Flight 93, which contains biographies of each of the forty people on the September 11, 2001 flight who fought back against the hijackers and prevented further attack. He will discuss his new book at the Fitchburg Historical Society on Saturday, October 19 at 1:00 p.m. Llera’s Finding Fannie, is the history and love story of Fitchburg’s Fannie Woollacott Johnson, her husband Dean E. Johnson, and his second wife Janet Louise Murphy.

Woods and Water Pottery is owned and operated by potter Rick Roth. Rick is known for his unique, sculptural pottery and wildlife wood carving. Rick’s wildlife interest also continues into his exotic animal business called “The Creature Teachers”. Rick’s business travels to schools, libraries, camps, and birthday parties educating the public on the variety of animals and their place in the world we share. For the 2023 Fitchburg Open Studio event, Rick will be bringing his pottery wheel to Creative Connections Gift Shop & gallery to demonstrate various throwing techniques with visitors!

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. So I don’t know if there was a particular point in time when I starting referring to myself as an Artist. I have explored many different mediums, watercolor, acrylic and oils. I was told one time that a live artist will create no matter the medium at hand. There is a great sense of freedom that I get from painting.
Currently working as the Instructor for the Accessible Art Studio Painting Class. The Accessible Art Studio is a program that is accessible for all abilities, I believe that everyone should have access to the ARTS.
